Sabah’s cultural diversity an example to other states: Chief Minister

Tuaran: The cultural diversity in Sabah needs to be celebrated by all regardless of race and religion, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
This is because, he said, diversity in cultural aspects such as the Lantern Festival are among the things that have made the people of this country live in united peacefully.
ADVERTISEMENT “This is the uniqueness and greatness of Sabah that is an example to other states. We have various festivals that we celebrate together regardless of race and religion.
“I feel proud because the Tuaran Lions Club has organised quite a great celebration and hope these cultures inherited from our ancestors will continue,” he said when officiating the celebration of the Tuaran Lantern Festival at Padang Astaka Tuaran, here, on Saturday night.
In the meantime, he also hoped that the people would continue to support the Rakyat Sabah (GRS) – Pakatan Harapan (PH) Plus coalition government to continue developing the state.
He said the State Government today would continue to bring development because it is their responsibility to do the best for the people.

“Therefore, I hope that the people of this state will not easily believe or be influenced by slander brought by those irresponsible. Actually we have done a lot after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have planned and implemented various programs to improve the economy of the people and the state. Not only that, but in other aspects including education and human capital which is one of the main focuses of the state government.

“We know that there are problems that are faced including those inherited from previous orders like water. But today’s government will continue to do the best to solve that problem. What’s important is support from the people so that Sabah continues to prosper in Malaysia,” he said.
“The government has and will continue to implement more development and projects that provide benefits and convenience to the people of this state.”
Also present was the Minister of Rural Development who is also Tamparuli Assemblyman, Datuk Jahid Jahim; Tuaran MP, Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau and Tuaran Lions Club President Kapitan Frankie Goh, who is also the Organising Chairman.
