TAMBUNAN: The Tagal System, introduced by the Sabah Fisheries Department, can maintain environmental sustainability if implemented according to the established guidelines.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said besides conserving river life, especially freshwater fish, the Tagal system has also become a tourism product and attraction for domestic and international visitors.

“A well-managed Tagal simultaneously preserves the beauty of nature,” said Jeffrey, who is also Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry.
