Malaysian Tourism Federation shocked over London Travel Mart no-show
Tan emphasised that the event provides a platform for showcasing Malaysia’s diverse offerings and securing valuable deals, crucial for boosting tourism revenue and creating jobs.
Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Tourism Federation (MTF) has sounded the alarm over the Ministry of Tourism’s decision to withdraw from the World Travel Market (WTM) London in 2024, warning of potential substantial losses for the country’s tourism sector.

This marks the first absence from the event in 20 years, a move the MTF argues could severely damage Malaysia’s global tourism visibility and market positioning.

“This withdrawal is a serious blow to our tourism industry,” MYG President Datuk Tan Kok Liang said:

“It sends a negative message to the world, suggesting instability and a reduction in our marketing efforts.”
