SANDAKAN: Environmental conservation camps should be widely emulated and expanded across all societal levels, according to Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong Shir Yee.

She highlighted how local scout members’ commitment to environmental education could inspire wider community engagement in daily environmental protection.

Vivian’s speech was delivered by Sandakan Parliamentary Office Special Officer Tang Szu Ching, at the closing ceremony of the Malaysian Scouts Association Sandakan Branch’s Sibuga District Camp at Gilwell Scouts Nature Park.

The event was attended by key scouting officials, including Gilwell Scouts Nature Park Board of Trustees Chairman Datuk Dr. Awang Zaini Suntim, Sabah Assistant Chief Scout Commissioner Lawrence Tan Ken Yee and Sibuga District Scout Commissioner Mohd Sofiee Ag Basrih, among others.
