Firm stance against corruption:  Anwar
Anwar said that if these individuals are proven to have committed such offences, they will be arrested and charged.
ANWAR highlighted the Madani Government’s firm stance against corruption and rights infringement.

The Prime Minister said that the Madani Government administration is stricter and does not compromise with those who steal money or take away the rights of the people.

He said that if these individuals are proven to have committed such offences, they will be arrested and charged.

“Don’t misunderstand, I don’t choose - it’s not my job to investigate, nor do I pass judgment.

“If reports are received, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission conducts investigations, and for criminal cases, it’s the police responsibility to take action and investigate.

“The investigation results are then submitted to the Attorney General and if there’s a strong case, prosecution will be initiated where these individuals are given the opportunity to defend themselves before a Judge decides,” he said.

The Prime Minister said this explanation was necessary to counter perceptions of personal vendettas in legal actions.

For this reason, he urged the public to elect leaders of integrity.

“We need to choose leaders with integrity, who are clean and look after the interests of the people because when we choose people who respect the country, the country will benefit,” he said.
