Five medical staff charged
The five after the proceedings yesterday.
Kota Kinabalu: Three nurses and two medical assistant officers were charged with using fake documents to claim overtime.

They were nurses Marvilta Michael Poudi, 35, Naliah Saliwat, 37, Azrina Abd Aziz, 36, and medical assistant officers Aemy Melanie Elon, 33, and Junior Justin, 34.

The five pleaded not guilty separately before Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga after the charges were to them, respectively, Thursday.

Marvilta has eight charges, Naliah has nine charges, Azrina has three charges, Aemy has 14 charges and Junior has nine charges.

On the first to eight count, Marvilta is accused of using fake documents in claiming the overtime between Dec 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021 with the total amount of RM24,482.88.

Meanwhile, Naliah on the first to ninth count, is accused of using fake documents in claiming overtime between July 17, 2020 and Aug 12, 2021 with the total amount of RM29,100.82.

Azrina on the first to third count, allegedly used fake documents in claiming overtime between June 11, 2021 and Aug 5, 2021 with the total amount of RM9,728.83.

Meanwhile, Aemy  on the first to 14 count, is accused of using fake documents to claim overtime between April 7, 2020 and Aug 5, 2021 with the total amount of RM41,922.94.

Junior on the first to ninth counts, is accused of using fake documents in claiming overtime between July 17, 2021 and Aug 12, 2021 with total amount of RM36,155.51.

The charges stated that the five who were staff at the Inanam Health Clinic, here allegedly submitted the fake documents among others were Jadual Extended Hours, copy of Jadual Bertugas Perkhidmatan Lanjutan Klinik Inanam, list of names of personnel who carry out on-call duties and copy of Kad Perakam waktu.

The court released all of them on bail of RM10,000 in a local surety each and to report to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) office once in two months.

The five were also ordered to surrender their passports if any, to the court.

MACC Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Izzati Safiee and Prosecuting Officer Nur Sabrina Ali appeared for the prosecution while counsel Sylvester Kuan defended Marvilta and Azrina, while the rest were not represented.
