BEAUFORT: Residents, particularly palm oil farmers, said pests like rats and monkeys that are ruining palm oil crops.
A resident, Tarisin Abdullah, told Daily Express that monkeys are also consuming the palm oil fruits, which are then further affected by rats.
He said this raised concern. They are unsure how to deal with the pest effectively.
“They tried to control the rat population by using poison but are concerned if the poison is consumed by the monkeys, it could harm or kill them,” Tarisin said.
