Call for anonymous reporting system
A Befrienders volunteer in Sabah told Daily Express that some of those who were stressed and needed to air their situation by contacting the counselling service have also been doctors.
Kota Kinabalu: The Health Ministry should put in place an anonymous reporting system for personnel facing bullying or pressure from superiors following the suicide of a specialist at Lahad Datu Hospital allegedly due to bullying.

Parti Warisan information chief Datuk Azis Jamman said there is need for a safe and confidential channel where healthcare workers can report such incidents without fear of retaliation.

“This system will be a crucial step towards creating a healthier and more supportive work environment for our dedicated medical professionals,” he said.

The brother of the 30-year-old deceased, Dr Tay Tien Yaa, who was attached to the hospital’s Pathology Department, alleged in Facebook that she had been subjected to bullying by a superior.
