Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Fellowship participants who completed their training programmes across various state ministries and agencies over the past two years have succeeded in securing employment.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said through this programme, participants comprising university graduates and school leavers gained exposure to the working environment and training before selecting their permanent careers.

He expressed satisfaction with the implementation and achievements of the programme since its introduction in SMJ Fellowships 1.0 and 2.0, which continued with series 3.0 this year.
“Today, we present certificates to graduates who have excelled at their universities to join what we call the SMJ Fellowship.

Also present were State Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Fairuz Renddan, State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong and Sabah Youth Council (MBS) President Abqaree Fawwaz Abekan.
The programme is organised by the Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with MBS and the Sabah Youth Leadership Incubator (IKEBS).
During the event, the Chief Minister also launched the Alumni Organisation of the SMJ Fellowship (PAFSMJ), established in cooperation with the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, IKEBS and former SMJ Fellowship participants.
Previously, SMJ Fellowships 1.0 and 2.0 provided training to 24 and 25 participants, respectively, while this year’s SMJ Fellowship 3.0 includes 30 participants.
This time, the focus is on young graduates from public and private higher education institutions as part of efforts to prepare future leaders and a talent pool for Sabah’s leadership.
Participants are placed in 10 state ministries as well as 17 statutory bodies and state-owned enterprises (GLCs).
Of the 30 selected participants for SMJ Fellowship 3.0 this year, 14 are male and 16 are female.
Ten of them are placed in various state ministries, while the remaining 20 are in 17 GLCs and statutory bodies.
The selected participants for SMJ Fellowship 3.0 include Mark Kevin Frederick (placed in the Chief Minister’s Department), Fairul Rafiq Nordin (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries), Yathrive Harsa (Ministry of Local Government and Housing), Mohammad Harith Jaafar (Ministry of Works), Nadira Nadia Simudah (Ministry of Finance) and Roger Yapp Kah Chong (Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship).
The others are Viannie G Jendili (Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment), Anasuha Hallhana Jilin (Ministry of Rural Development), Nor Aqila Side (Ministry of Community Development and People’s Welfare), Shahrul Azwan James @ Mohd Zulazmi (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation).
The remaining participants include Dayangku Adriana and Nicole Olivia Alvera Pagrios (Asian Supply Base), Mohammad Iddin Kassim (Desa), Mohammad Fiehzan (Institute of Government and Community Cooperation), Sitti Aisyah Orlando (Jetama), Mohd Ashraf Busrah (KKIP Aerospace), Aliuddin Anwar (Sabah State Baitulmal Corporation), Nurul Izzati Janis (Qhazanah Sabah Berhad), Mohamad Fadlie Shafiq Osman (Sabah Port), Sonia Crystal Miji (Sabah Credit) and Audrey Easter Adelaide and Muhd Iqmal Hamsah (Sabah Energy).
Others selected include Hainie Selin (Sabah Net), Priska Magdalena Sinem (Sabah Softwood), Nur Amirah Jais (Safma), Mohd Nur Hakim Jaidi (Smart Sabah), Ismail Kasim (Suria Capital), Kultum Demie and Mohd Farhan Roslin (Tanjung Aru Eco-Development) and Mohd Hilman Syah Ahmad (Yayasan Sabah).
