Kota Kinabalu: A NGO dedicated to caring for strays said the recent brutal killing of five stray dogs near Pekan Masjid, in Semporna, highlights the need for the Government to engage in a Trap, Neuter and Release (TNR) programme with NGOs
“It’s high time to prevent the killing of innocent animals to continue,” said Heart President Dr Roslee bin Abbas.
“There is no shortcut in handling this issue, like using brutality to end the lives of strays instead of a TNR programme. Resorting to the former will paint a negative picture of Malaysia to visitors and expats,” he said.
Roslee was responding to Facebook user Natasha Nazir who uploaded a photo purportedly showing the corpses of the five dogs in the back alley at the commercial area in Semporna.
