Kota Kinabalu: Yayasan Sabah’s environmental education programme which started two years ago has reached out to thousands of kids in Semporna and Kunak.
To date more than 3,000 primary and secondary school students in the two districts had participated in the programme, with officers from Yayasan Sabah’s Conservation and Environmental Management Division and Reef Check Malaysia providing talks.

Reef Check Malaysia is a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to protect and conserve marine ecosystems in Malaysia and one of its project is in Semporna.
State Education Department, Semporna and Kunak district education office also provided assistance for the successful implementation of the initiative.
