Kota Kinabalu: A passenger died after jumping out of a Toyota Hilux as it plunged 38 metres down a ravine at Jalan Bukit Kopungit, here, on Saturday night.
Police said the 10.17pm incident was caused by a released handbrake before the vehicle’s engine was started.

City police chief ACP Kasim Muda said preliminary investigations identified a total of four victims, all in their 60s.
“The front passenger managed to jump out while the driver and two passengers in the rear seat plunged backwards into the ravine. One of the rear passengers is suspected to have jumped out mid fall and died doing so."
