According to Willey, who is also the Chairman of the Kinabatangan District Council, the visit was aimed at briefing Juhar on the status of Kinabatangan in terms of development, security, and so on.
He also said that the Kinabatangan District Council is currently updating the working paper on the New Kinabatangan Township to be presented to the Cabinet in the near future.
“Among the facilities proposed for the New Kinabatangan Township include council staff housing, hotels, shops, new offices, and a mosque.
“This development will be able to change a new pattern of life for Kinabatangan residents, attract tourists from abroad, and at the same time generate finances for local residents,” added Willey.
