Kota Kinabalu: The Montfort Youth Training Centre serves as a second chance, or even a last chance, for marginalised youth from poor and rural backgrounds to receive training and education that equips them to face real-world challenges.
Many of them lack basic qualifications such as completing Primary Six or Form Three and Form Five, making the training provided by MYTC essential for their future prospects, said Sabah Australian Alumni Association head Datuk Verus Sham.
A SAAA delegation recently visited the training centre in Kinarut.
Frederick Mah, the MYTC Director briefed and guided the visitors through the facility, which included a tour of the Skill Development campus, where various workshops are conducted, as well as the residential campus.
