RANAU: A fire destroyed 17 premises, including shops, homestays, rental houses, and a storage warehouse, in Kundasang on Thursday evening.
The incident, which broke out at about 8.30pm, engulfed a row of business premises 18 kilometres from the District Fire and Rescue Station.
A team of 15 firefighters, assisted by personnel from the police, Civil Defence Force, and Sabah Electricity, worked to contain the blaze using multiple water sources.
Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control by 10.09pm, with the operation concluding at 12.52am, while investigations into the cause and losses are ongoing.
