Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) Extraordinary General Meeting endorsed two amendments of its constitution which was unanimously approved by all the 25 chamber-members who attended EGM held at KKCCCI this week.
The two amendments are: (i) Article 8, Item 2: To amend the number of four vice presidents and increased to seven vice-presidents and (ii) Article 8, Item 4: The members of the Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Deputy President, seven Vice-Presidents, the Secretary General and the Treasurer General (Total 11).
Meanwhile SUCCC president Datuk Michael Lui in his opening speech said that the full attendance at the EGM of all the 25 affiliated members was a positive sign of unity in the SUCCC.
“When I contested the president post in last election, I promised that once I was elected as the president, I would amend the constitution to increase the number of vice presidents from four to seven.
This is a very important agenda because SUCCC only had 16 affiliated members at that time, and now it has increased to 25, and the amendment of constitution to meet the needs of the organisation and to further enhance and strengthening the promotion of SUCCC’s affairs,” Michael said.
Michael also mentioned that the seven vice presidents will be responsible for leading eight different major sectors, such as; student loans, welfare, commerce & industry and small and medium enterprises, agriculture, fisheries and livestock, youth enterprises, tourism, digital information, and logistics.
