TAWAU: Another adult male body was discovered by the public on Tuesday, this time found hanging from a tree near Taman Megah Jaya 9.
Viral social media posts showed the decomposed body hanging in a forested area near the Jalan Tiku roundabout. Netizens claimed the man had died by suicide.
The scene drew a crowd and saw the presence of Tawau police and fire department personnel.
Tawau police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin confirmed the discovery, stating that the report was received at 10.45am. The case is currently classified as a sudden death (SDR), pending a post-mortem at Tawau Hospital.
Jasmin added the cause of death has yet to be confirmed, as the forensic expert is expected on Wednesday.
Just a week earlier, another adult male body was found in a water-filled drain near Ba Zhong Commercial Centre in town.
