KOTA KINABALU: The 25th Matta Fair Sabah was officially launched at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Saturday, signalling renewed momentum in reviving the state's tourism sector.
The three-day event, from May 9 to 11, was officiated by Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew and organised by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) with its Sabah Chapter.
Christina highlighted the fair’s vital role in promoting Sabah’s unique travel offerings to international markets.
She said the event’s continued success reflected Sabah’s resilience and growing appeal to nature, adventure, and culture-seeking travellers worldwide.
Christina also noted that Sabah recorded RM4.5 million in sales at the recent National Matta Fair in Kuala Lumpur, up from RM3 million in 2024.
