KOTA KINABALU: A 76-year-old man sustained minor injuries after a fire destroyed 10 houses in Kampung Warisan, Kalansanan, on Saturday.

The blaze, which began around 5pm, is believed to have originated from a front-row house before rapidly spreading.

All the affected homes were reportedly rental units, with one family said to have lived there for over 10 years.

Firefighters from Kota Kinabalu and Lintas struggled to contain the flames due to the wooden structures and tight spacing.

The victim is in stable condition while authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
