SANDAKAN: Bedi Berhad, formerly known as WMG, marked a new chapter in its corporate journey with a renewed focus on innovation, sustainability, and community development.
Chief Executive Officer Ben Kong Chung Vui said the company aims to lead Borneo-based initiatives that integrate ecological sustainability and urban innovation centred on people and place.
He said Bedi is currently developing Bayu Residence in Damai, comprising 762 residential units, and the 35-acre Jesselton Docklands integrated waterfront project near the Sabah International Convention Centre.
Kong made the announcement during the opening of the Sejati Sentral Site Office in Sandakan, officiated by Sandakan Municipal Council President Walter Kenson.
The company also celebrated the groundbreaking of Jesselton Docklands earlier this month, with its first phase, Bedrock, envisioned as a commercial and tourism hub to revitalise the city’s waterfront.
In Sandakan, Bedi’s Sejati Sentral project is set to reshape the local landscape as a modern commercial centre featuring 141 shoplots, a hotel, and a drive-through restaurant, serving a growing township of more than 40,000 people.
Looking ahead, Kong said the company plans to launch two new projects in Sandakan and three in Kota Kinabalu by 2026, continuing its drive to deliver transformative developments made in Sabah, for Sabahans.
