KOTA KINABALU: Sabah formalised the appointments of 17 new assistant ministers and six nominated assemblypersons at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Tuesday, marking a lineup that includes at least three prominent Chinese figures.
Among the new nominated assemblypersons are former Sabah Law Society president Datuk Roger Chin, Liberal Democratic Party president Datuk Chin Su Phin, and Kota Kinabalu PKR division chief Grace Li Mei, signalling a broader inclusion of Chinese voices in the state administration.
The ceremony, witnessed by the Head of State Tun Dr Musa Aman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, also confirmed assistant minister appointments across GRS, Star and Independent representatives, including Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Dato Sri Ruddy Awah, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, Datuk Limus Jury, Datuk Rina Zainal and others.
