KOTA KINABALU: A groom’s quiet wedding invite in an old school group chat unexpectedly sparked a reunion that melted TikTok users.
A short clip by @afiqkandi_ shows the groom breaking down when his secondary school friends suddenly appeared at his wedding after secretly flying from Sabah to the peninsula.
The video has pulled in more than 280,000 views, probably because people are starving for something wholesome.
Afiq explained that the invite came barely a week and a half before the ceremony.
But instead of making excuses about work or timing, the group decided within a day to go for it.
By the next 24 hours, flights were booked, leave was applied for, and a homestay was secured.
It was a fast, slightly chaotic mission to show up for a friend they hadn’t seen in a decade.
Afiq reflected that planning too far ahead often kills the moment.
"Sometimes you just act, hope for the best, and things fall into place," he said.
He added that staying close gets harder as people build their own lives, but this reunion proved that old bonds can still spark back to life when it matters.
