BARISAN Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar said he will always carry the spirit of his late father, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who was the incumbent. Naim said this also represents a great responsibility in upholding the mandate entrusted to him by grassroots leaders.
He said his experience as Umno Youth chief for the constituency, along with his previous involvement working alongside his late father and local leaders, would be an advantage.
Naim said his team would meet as many residents in the constituency as possible. Naim is contesting against Warisan’s Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman and Independent Goldam H Salangah.
BN colleague Mohd Ismail hoped young leaders would be given the opportunity to lead Lamag as well as the Kinabatangan parliamentary constituency.
He is in a straight fight against Parti Warisan’s Mazliwati Abdul Malek for the Lamag seat. Mohd Ismail said they do not take any candidate lightly, as every contest must be approached fairly and with full commitment. “In this election, there is no draw… there are only winners and losers. We are confident that with the support of the people, Lamag and Kinabatangan will remain with BN.”
