KENINGAU: Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) President, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup (pic) hailed new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador’s call to political leaders to view police presence in any event involving political parties positively.
“I am not surprised to see that the IGP was shocked after being briefed that the ruling Parti Warisan Sabah barred Special Branch (SB) officers from attending it’s functions.

“It is unbecoming for a ruling party to behave in such a manner,” he said in his statement, Monday. He said this was the first time he had come across police officers being prevented from performing their duties.
“I have no doubt that the overriding intention of the SB to be there was to keep peace and order which is of paramount importance to the rakyat. Therefore, their presence in any public event should be most welcomed.”
