KENINGAU: A 25-year-old local has been detained after he allegedly slashed his uncle with a machete at a village in Nabawan, on Friday.
The victim, who sustained a 20cm long and 4cm wide slash wound on his abdomen is currently being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu where he is reported to be in stable condition.

District Police Chief, DSP Shahrudin Mat Husain, in a media conference, here, Tuesday, said a machete believed to be used in the attack has since been recovered.
Initial findings showed that a police report was lodged at about 6.15pm on May 10, after a heated argument turned physical.
The incident was witnessed by the victim’s wife and father who sought help from their neighbours.
The incident unfolded when the victim, who was resting at home, was approached by the machete-wielding man at about 5.30pm.

Further findings showed that the suspect was unhappy with his uncle who allegedly hid his (suspect) six-month-old daughter from him (suspect).
