Kamal, who sent Hotline a picture of several rows of benches without enough legroom in a hospital via email recently, is advised to specify the government health institution in question.
He said a minimal legroom in the hospital’s waiting room is not just a discomfort issue, but potentially a rather serious safety hazard as well.

“I preferred standing while waiting for my queue number to be called rather than squeezing myself through that tight space in order to sit on their bench because it surely won’t be comfortable,” he added.
He noticed many of the seats were vacant because nobody were willing to sit in that cramped space.
“It puzzled me as to why the management arranged the benches in such a way that hardly anyone can sit on it,” he said.
He said patients would run the risk of injuring their knee if they were not careful when standing up or while walking in that tight space.

“This seat arrangement is not suitable for those with severe arthritis because their condition may be worsen after hitting their knee on the bench in front of them,” he added.
