Kembara damaged by fallen tree in Tuaran
TUARAN: A Perodua Kembara was damaged by an uprooted 12-metre tree during strong winds in Kg Telibong, here over the weekend.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the 12noon incident. 

“We didn’t dare go out, the trees were shaking, even our house was shaking due to the strong winds,” said one resident, Roziah, 49. 

She said they at home when the tree uprooted and fell on the car parked in front of their house.  She said they alerted the Civil Defence for help. 

Meanwhile, Tuaran Civil Defence Officer, Paulina Francis said three personnel were rushed to the scene following a 12.05pm distress call. 

The team found the car crushed under the uprooted tree together with electrical cables. It took them about 20 minutes to clear the tree and to remove the wires. 

The operation ended about 2pm.
