Call for Temporary Resident Pass

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party President Datuk Yong Teck Lee said the Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants in Sabah had not recommended the implementation of the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) as claimed by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman.
Yong said this during a protest (pictured) here Sunday to protect the rights of Sabahans, to call on the government to exhaust all options and come up with a better solution to the illegal immigrants problem.

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who also took part in the protest, said the PSS should be replaced by a temporary resident pass that is only given to those with ‘burung-burung’ and census cards, not to IMM13 holders.

Over a hundred protesters gathered at Lintasan Deasoka, Jalan Gaya, despite the rainy weather for the ‘Black Sunday’ sit-in peaceful demonstration calling for the Federal Government not to implement the PSS.
The gathering, which began at 10am, was also attended by Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
