Amok with knife nabbed in Labuan

LABUAN: A Filipino who ran amok with a kitchen knife was nabbed by police early Monday.The 28-year-old drug addict was having issues with his siblings when he ran amok in this island’s downtown area.

Labuan Police Chief Supt. Muhammad Farid Ahmad said the incident happened at 1.40am when the man was spotted by patrol policemen angrily running around with the knife in front of LPS Restaurant.
“There was a scuffle with the policemen as they tried to apprehend the man, but our men managed to put him under control,” he said Monday.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the man, a construction worker, took the knife from the kitchen of a restaurant nearby and ran amok around the area, a nightspot where a number of entertainment outlets and coffee houses are located.
The man is being remanded for four days from today and the case is being investigated under Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
