Report against person who insulted Agong

Tuaran: A report has been lodged by Tuaran Umno Division Youth Chief, Alfian Sambas, against a Facebook user for alleged insult on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Alfian said the individual posted the insulting statement in an infographic manner at about 8.02pm on June 3.

“The statement is unhealthy, unreasonable and insulting to the National Constitution. Such act of insulting and belittling the position of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is not only rude to the Institution of Malay rulers but is also a criminal act against the country,” he said.
Alfian pointed out that Malaysia is a country that practises constitutional monarchy and that it should be respected by all parties, adding that it is a responsibility and duty of the people to respect the constitution.

“If it continues, it will become a culture which is rude, against human civilisation, and will be part of shaping the culture of the next generation of Malaysians,” he said.

Also present at the Tuaran police station were Tuaran Umno Division Deputy Youth Chief, Tazmidi Henarin, Tuaran Umno Youth Assistant Secretary Mohd Mohd Fadhli Zain and Tuaran Umno Information Chief Sharmizie Rashman.
