Search for missing Papar man continues

Agencies collaborating to search for the 33-year-old man who was reported missing at sea.
PAPAR: The Search and Rescue (SAR) operation for a 33-year-old man reported missing near Kampung Kuala Waters, since Wednesday, is continuing.

District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said the operation entered its third day since following a report lodged by the victim’s family member.

He said the operation is carried out alongside the Fire and Rescue Department as well as Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) along with Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

The victim,  Halib Bidin, has yet to be found at press time.

On Thursday, MMEA Director First Admiral Mohd Rosli Abdullah said that the victim was reported to have gone out to sea along on a pump boat to fish at around 2pm on Tuesday but was later reported missing after his unmanned boat was found near Pulau Dinawan.
