Kota Kinabalu: In a stunning turn of events, Lahad Datu MP Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi announced his departure from Bersatu on Tuesday to become an independent friendly with the state and federal governments.

The 65-year-old veteran politician, who previously quit Warisan in October last year, joined Bersatu on Nov 26.

The former tourism minister lamented this included the Lahad Datu parliamentary constituency, where he alleged all matters in the party were handled by Bersatu’s existing leaders.
