Hajiji attends royal wedding

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Datuk Juliah Salag attended the Royal wedding ceremony of the Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s son, Prince Abdul Mateen, to Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman, Sunday.
After the ceremony, the couple took part in a procession around the capital.
ADVERTISEMENT Hajiji and Juliah would also attend the Royal Dining Ceremony at the Dining Hall in Istana Nurul Iman on Monday.
The 10-day celebration began with the “Majlis Istiadat Bersuruh Diraja” on Jan. 7, followed by the “Majlis Istiadat Membuka Gendang Jaga-Jaga” on Jan. 8.
The “Majlis Istiadat Menghantar Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja”, “Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja” and “Pertunangan Diraja” commenced on Jan. 9 while the “Majlis Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja” was held on Jan. 10.
The celebration continued with the “Majlis Istiadat Akad Nikah Diraja” on Jan. 11 and the “Majlis Istiadat Bersanding Pengantin Diraja” (wedding ceremony) on Jan. 14 while the “Majlis Persantapan Diraja” will be held on Jan. 15.

The wedding would conclude with the “Majlis Istiadat Membaca Doa dan Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga” on Jan. 16.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail have extended prayers and well-wishes for the occasion.

Anwar said he and Dr Wan Azizah are honoured to have received the invitation from the Sultan.
Anwar also mentioned that he had the opportunity to meet other Asean leaders at the ceremony, including Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
