Kota Kinabalu: The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry, through the Sabah Tourism Board (STB), is following up on the paragliding accident involving a Chinese tourist, Xue Dong Yuan, 64, in Lohan, Ranau on April 22.
“I have instructed STB to follow up on the case on what needs to be done,” its Minister Datuk Christina Liew said in a statement, Tuesday.

According to STB, Ma Chong and Joanne Wong from the Consul General China Office, and Aboni Loong (Marketing) and Florence Gom (Product Division) from STB had visited the patient at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) 1 around 10am on April 29.
STB had also communicated with Geremy of Flying Earth Travel Sdn Bhd for the tour operator to do the needful.
The Consul General China Office and STB facilitated translation between the patient’s family and Sabah ground handlers to discuss compensation for the patient’s injury.
The patient and her family member had arranged with their insurance company for their return journey back to Hebei Province, China, via Shanghai Airlines on April 30.
