Fined RM5,000 for cheating woman

TAWAU: A former Native Chief Representative (WKAN) was fined RM5,000 or three months’ jail for cheating a woman of RM1,200 pertaining to the issuance of identification document.Minur Jimes, 54, who is a trader, pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat, to the charge against him.

Minur cheated Dayang Tairudin by deceiving her that he could help her to issue late birth registration certificates and identity cards for Dayang and her sister, prompting her (Dayang) to give RM1,200 to Minur.
He committed the offence at the five-foot way of the National Registration Department (JPN) Sandakan Branch around February 2016.
The offence under Section 415 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 417 of the same Code, which provides for imprisonment up to five years or a fine or both, if convicted.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
