Driving digital education: Felda

LAHAD DATU: Establishing robotics and programming clubs via the Felda Digital Maker Hub (FDMH) in Felda land scheme schools will drive digital education for the new generation.In a statement Saturday, Felda said the robotics and programming club through the FDMH will be part of the co-curricular activities in schools, apart from being a platform to promote excellence among the students involved.

“The Education Ministry is responsible for ensuring these activities are carried out well while Felda will prepare the training for design and technology teachers for each school involved to ensure delivery and implementation of activities to students are done effectively.
“Felda is always committed to implementing progressive initiatives for the new generation including the FDMH initiative. Felda also believes this initiative will be an instrument to further boost the social mobility of Felda residents starting from primary school education,” he said.
The statement was released in conjunction with the launch of FDMH - Coding and Robotics by Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sahabat 4, Felda Sahabat near here today. Also present at the event was Felda chairman Tan Sri Idris Jusoh.
The FDMH initiative has been implemented in 19 national schools in Felda and has benefitted 3,483 students.

“This initiative will be further intensified to be implemented in all 270 national schools in Felda areas nationwide with a target of being completed before 2026,” the statement also said.
