Encouraging cultural conservation among rural communities

Joniston said, Sabah Parks’ efforts of expanding protected areas will be intensified next year aside from efforts to gazette Mantanani Island Park, Kota Belud and Darvel Bay Park, Lahad Datu soon.
Kota Kinabalu: The Tourism, Culture, and Environment Ministry will expand and strengthen the Community Cultural Protocol (CCP) guidelines to rural communities to encourage cultural conservation.Its Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said this is so that it can be integrated with community-based tourism activities.
Aside from that, the Ministry will also continue the cultural mapping project that will involve 11 ethnic groups in four zones in Sabah.
