Two reported missing in Sandakan
SANDAKAN: Two people were reported missing in Sungai Seguntur Batu 10, here, since last Sunday.

Director of the State Operations Division (PPON), Malaysian Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, Misran Bisara, said he received a call about the incident at about 11.09am through the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station line.

He immediately dispatched a rescue team from the station together with the PDRM, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and Malaysian Civil Defence Force to the location.

In KINABATANGAN, three men were reported safe after the boat they were in sunk off Sungai Kampung Terusan water, here, Monday.

Sabah Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre received an emergency call regarding the incident via the MERS999 line and immediately sent five members from the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the location 76km away with a rescue boat.

The three victims were aged between 25 and 55 years old and were reportedly carrying out fishing activities prior to the incident.

According to the caller, who is one of the victim’s children, said he received a voice message informing him that the boat his father was on had sunk and made a report to the Fire Department.

The victims were rescued by the villagers and handed over to the Marine Police Force and then taken to the Sandakan Marine Police Base, Jalan Sim-Sim.
