Aiming 80,000 Lambuk packs next year
The Ramadan bubur lambuk programme seeks to strengthen ties.
Kota Kinabalu: Adabi Sabah Distribution Sdn Bhd will distribute 80,000 packs of lambuk porridge through the Ramadan corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme next year.

Its Manager, Zahari Nasir, said the target gave the organisers a wider opportunity to work together in promoting the month of Ramadan by catering to more disadvantaged groups, orphans, asnaf and vulnerable groups, thereby strengthening friendships while preparing bubur lambuk in a cooperative manner.

“We are optimistic of reaching the distribution target of 80,000 packs of lambuk porridge based on the distribution record of 72,000 packs this year.

“In addition, there were 20 locations that had to be rejected because the organisers made requests at the last minute.

“With this target as well, the space to establish cooperation and close friendships with various parties through Ramadan CSR will be wider,” he said.

Commenting on the record distribution of 72,000 packs of bubur lambuk, Zahari said the requests were from State and Federal departments and agencies, NGOs, corporate sector, institutions of higher learning and mosques, among others.

“This Ramadan is the busiest, we get bookings every day until two days before the end of Ramadan throughout Sabah.

“Until today, Adabi has produced 250 pots, equivalent to 72,000 packs of bubur lambuk which were distributed to the community, especially in Kota Kinabalu.

“Compared to the distribution of 60,000 packs last year, this year Adabi recorded an increase of 12,000 packs through the cooperation of various parties,” he said.

According to Zahari, in order to make the programmes throughout Ramadan this year successful, they mobilised the west and east coast teams with 10 and eight workers, respectively.

“We have a team in the East Coast of Sabah that cover Tawau, Sandakan, Semporna, and Lahad Datu, while the KK team cover the West Coast including Sipitang, Beaufort, Labuan Federal Territory, but we prioritise Kota Kinabalu because the demand is high in KK.

“In terms of logistics, we also mobilised 10 units of lorries for delivery, a food truck, and two units of vans to cover the needs of the CSR program throughout Sabah,” he shared.
