RANAU: A family of six cheated death when their vehicle plunged into a 10-metre deep ravine near here on Monday.Ranau BBP Station Head, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib, said the incident involving two adults and four children occurred at Kg Sagindai Ranau at 4.46pm.

“A call was received through the Station Line about this incident and a group of six personnel led by Operations Commander, PBK II (KUP) Niel Thomson was rushed to the location.
“Arriving at the scene 35km from the station, we found that there was an accident involving a BLM Proton Saga that had crashed into a 10-metre-deep ravine.
“There were six victims consisting of two adults and four children and were removed from the wreckage by the public before the machinery arrived,” he said.
According to Ridwan, a female victim with injuries was sent by the public to the hospital.

“After making sure there was no more danger, the operation ended at 5.30pm,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ridwan also advised road users to be extra careful while driving during the festive season where there is an increasing number of vehicles on the road.

“For those making long distant journeys to balik kampung, ensure your vehicles are in good condition and the driver had enough rest before starting the drive, and stop by the resting if tired,” he said.
