RANAU: Native customary holders are reminded to remain committed to empowering the Native Court institution (MAN) throughout their tenure as native leaders in their respective communities.

Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said customary holders must continue to strive to achieve the ideal where MAN is comparable to the Civil Court.

“There is no denying that the Civil Court is always above MAN. But what we want to see in the near future is that both institutions have equal authority in their respective responsibilities,” he said.
