Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Golf and Country Club (SGCC) along Jalan Bundusan, here, was destroyed in a blaze on Friday and losses have been estimated at RM5 million.

The fire is believed to have happened just after midnight and was discovered by a security guard patrolling the area.

On May 20, the popular Zing Sunset Bar at the Kinabalu Golf Club (KGC) was destroyed by fire at 2.30am. The cause remained a mystery.

In the latest fire, a total of 63 golf buggies, a two-story building and golf sets including Honma belonging to about 20 SGCC members were among the losses.

State Fire and Rescue Assistant Director (Operations) Hamsa Isnurdini (inset) as well as the Fire and Rescue Forensics team arrived at the scene at about 9am to investigate.
