Don’t use our logo, name, SESB warns third parties
Yaakob said SESB had previously held a series of dialogues with customers and communities in several districts to receive suggestions and feedback on SESB services.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) takes a serious view of the use of the company’s logo and name by individuals, unions or organisations without obtaining written permission.

SESB in a statement said it has legal rights and remedies, including the right to obtain injunctive relief, damages and legal costs.

“SESB owns the trademark and image of the company with its own copyright and SESB will not hesitate to take action on any misrepresentation, violation or any use of the trademark without written permission from SESB,” it said.

Commenting on the use of the SESB logo by third parties, it said SESB is stern that it is the only official registrar of the trademarks for SESB, Sabah Electricity and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd as well as the images used to represent the company.

Therefore, SESB requests the cooperation of all parties to comply and ensure that the use of the SESB trademark is not adopted, it said.

SESB Chief Executive Officer Ir.Ts. Mohd Yaakob Hj Jaafar said SESB always welcomes any suggestions and positive views from all parties.

“Contributions of constructive ideas are always well received by SESB to ensure that the level of service is always at a good level,” he said.

Mohd Yaakob said SESB had previously held a series of dialogues with customers and communities in several districts to receive suggestions and feedback on SESB services.

“Last year, we held a dialogue with the local community and community leaders in Tuaran, Keningau, Ranau and Pitas and the latest in January in Telupid.

He also welcomed the establishment of the Sabah Electricity Watchdog (SEW) which was announced by a political party.

“Hopefully, with the existence of organisation like this, there will be more proposals that can be considered for the progress and improvement of services at SESB and we will always strive to provide quality services to all users and stakeholders,” he said.
