Tuaran: Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the four-day Sabah Bajausama Cultural Festival 2024.

Sabah Bajausama Association (PRBSS) Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Kassim Razali, who is also the organising chairperson, said the festival would start tomorrow (Saturday).

“The closing on Feb 28 will be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also PRBSS President,” he said, at the Sabah Bajausama Cultural Centre, here, Thursday.

He said there will be additional activities open for public participation for this year’s edition aside from the usual programme.

When it comes to skincare, the first thought on our minds would be beauty products such as serums, creams, and masks. However, beauty experts and even researchers have stated that drinking more water can be just as crucial for your skin's health.
“Among them are Bajausama dance and musical instrument workshops.

“These are open to the public, and we have experienced instructors who handle the workshops.”

Another activity is the Soromas competition – a singing competition involving contestants from the association branches. Currently, the Association has 18 branches.

“The Association would sponsor the winner to record a Bajausama song,” he said.

As for the anticipated Ratu Serimpak pageant, the top winners will receive exciting prizes, and the crown winner will walk away with a study scholarship from the University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF).

The Bertitik (traditional musical instrument playing) competition, he said, would also be conducted.

“The festival is a medium for us to develop the Bajausama culture so that it would not be lost.”

The festival’s highlight will be on the final day, where there will be performances from the various competition winners and the Ratu Serimpak finals.

“There will also be popular guest artists entertaining the public,” he said.

He also said the organisers are collaborating with tourism agencies and operators to bring tourists to witness the event.
