Yayasan Bank Rakyat provides RM300,000 for entrepreneurs at National Institute of Entrepreneurship

KUALA PENYU: Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) provided a fund of RM300,000 to pay the fees of entrepreneurs participating in the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (KNSKEN) course in Sabah and Sarawak.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said it will benefit about 1,200 entrepreneurs who wish to participate the entrepreneurship programme organized by INSKEN, one of the agencies under the ministry.

“There are entrepreneurs who have limited knowledge to develop effective business strategies to compete in the market.
“Therefore, the approach of developing the knowledge and skills of entrepreneurs is needed to produce a business that has strong competitiveness in the market.
“In this regard, I would like to announce the good news to entrepreneurs and small traders that INSKEN in collaboration with YBR will provide benefits amounting to RM300,000 to 1,200 entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak,” he said when speaking at the opening of the Karnival Tekun Madani dan Showcase Kukun Satu Daerah Satu Industri (SDSI) ), at the Datuk Shahbandar Makang Community Hall here, Saturday.
Ewon said the fund will provide opportunities and encouragement to entrepreneurs in East Malaysia to participate in entrepreneurship training programmes.

“Bank Rakyat Foundation will sponsor RM250 for each participant who participates in the INSKEN-organized entrepreneurship training programme in Sabah and Sarawak.
“Through this initiative, I hope that more informal entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak will take the opportunity to gain entrepreneurial knowledge to strengthen their respective businesses,” he said.

Ewon also called for entrepreneurs in the state to seize the benefits provided by KUSKOP by registering for the INSKEN training programme on the website www.insken.gov.my.
Among those present, Secretary General of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Datuk Sri Suriani Ahmad, Beaufort Member of Parliament Datuk Siti Aminah Aching, Kuala Penyu Assemblyman Datuk Limus Jury, National TEKUN Chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid.
