IT is said that the human brain loves good story telling. Maybe it’s the power of story telling that has shaped UAE’s youngest writer award winner – eight-year-old Huzaifa Ali of Dubai.

“As young as three years old, he would insist that I tell him bed time stories about things like sea water,” said mother Aisha Sheikh.

Months later, she observed he was forming thoughts, I realised these were his own imaginations, his own thoughts, like sea water, he was concerned about the fishes, why people put them in aquarium when they should be free.

Whatever he observed, he wrote but sometimes it is just imaginations, like his award winning title “My Dinosaur Friend” for which he was honoured big time as the youngest writer in a launching ceremony they called inauguration in Dubai in September 2022.

His message to peers: “Be strong like a dinosaur”.

On May 7, Daily Express witnessed Huzaifa Ali being honoured with the youngest writer appreciation award at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival.

Probably the proudest moment was the day when H.E. Sheik Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni invited Huzaifa to his palace for the book inauguration in his palace, Dubai.

Huzaifa is a Year 3 pupil at Arab Unity School, Dubai.
