Continuous effort to improve water supply quality a must: YB

RANAU: Continuous effort must be taken to ensure water supply quality is improved, said Pagintan Assemblyman Datuk Abidin Madingkir.

Speaking to reporters after a briefing by Ranau Water Department Chief Hj Samsul Bahriy Marullah at the Ranau Water Dept office, he said there are still issues that must be tackled in the district.

“Today we received a briefing from the Ranau Water Department engineer and discussed various issues regarding water supply and water plant in Ranau area especially in Paginatan.

“We are grateful with the Ranau Water Department for its commitment in addressing water supply issues here especially in the event of severe damage caused by floods,” he said.

Abidin assured the department that he would continue to cooperate and seek initiatives to improve the quantity and quality of water supply in the district.

Since the rainy season started last month, residents have been complaining about shortage of water supply particularly during heavy rain. The most problem is most likely due blockage on the water intakes.
