A restaurant owner here also lamented of how the frequent water shortages had affected the restaurant’s operations.
A staff at the restaurant said they have reserved water in 10 water tanks (800 litres) yet all the water was used up in just one week, which prompted them to resort to buying water with a water tanker truck.
“But even with that, until when can it last? If the situation persists, then the Water Department needs to be aware of this issue and not take it lightly,” he said.
Several other restaurants at Beaufort Central are also experiencing the same water woes, which has been going on since a few months ago.

Meanwhile, a consumer said the water problems being experienced in the district do not seem to show signs that it may be resolved any time soon.
“We can only rely on collected rainwater, but if there is no rain, how else are we going to get water?” he said.
