Kota Kinabalu: Strategic location, connectivity, extensive amenities and facilities, good maintenance and value for money are among the reasons buyers are drawn to The Palm Condominium developed by WSG Group.Nur Hidayati Razali, 31, said she decided to purchase a unit at Tower B due to the condominium’s location near the Pan Borneo Highway. “In a few years’ time, this area will certainly flourish because of the Pan Borneo Highway. “There are more and more new housing estates and shoplots in this area, and I believe Kinarut will be a populated residential area in the future,” she said.

Besides that, Nur Hidayati said the pricing of The Palm Condominium was reasonable compared to the increasing housing cost in central Putatan. The teacher of SMK Putatan also expressed confidence in the workmanship of the WSG Group helmed by its managing director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen, as her family currently lives in Palm Beach Villa developed by the Wong Kwok Group. Nur Hidayati were among the 10 selected buyers who received complimentary gifts from the WSG Group worth RM2,300 during a key handing over ceremony at the condominium. She also benefited from stamp duty waiver under the Home Ownership Campaign 2021 as a first-time home buyer. Meanwhile, Christy Claire De Guzman was attracted to The Palm Condominium due to the convenience of having retail shops, supermarkets, leisure and recreational spots right outside. The government servant and mother of two said she wanted to buy a house that was close to her sister and mother in Kinarut and came across the condominium. “It is a good investment because there are shops and resorts here. There is no need to travel to Kota Kinabalu to do shopping. “The management corporation takes good care of the facilities here and a good thing about staying in a condominium is that I do not have to bother about cutting the grass on my lawn,” she said, adding that being flood-free is also an important factor to her. Mohd Zubri Jaafar, a construction manager for a consultancy firm, bought a sea view unit at Tower B after staying at a rented unit at Tower A for a year. “I like staying here because it is centralised and located not far from my workplace and the city centre. “It is only 10 minutes from airport too. “They have everything here - eateries, laundromats and retail shops,” he said.

Mohd Zubri, who hails from Kedah but previously worked in Shah Alam, said he decided to buy a unit at Tower B as his second home when he comes visit in future after returning to West Malaysia, or as accommodation for his friends, family or relatives who travel to Sabah. Alternatively, he said the unit could also be rented out at favourable price if he no longer lives there. On the other hand, Fakhrul Faiz Ja’afar, an aircraft engineer at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), said The Palm Condominium was reasonable priced for a condominium unit that was over 1,000 sq ft. “It is nearly impossible to find a condominium more than 1,000 sq ft below RM400,000 in Kota Kinabalu,” he said.

Besides, he said his new home, which he will move in with his future wife, is located less than 20 minutes’ drive away. On another note, Susan said Tower B was launched in December 2019 and was completed six months ahead of schedule despite the Movement Control Order (MCO). At 18 storeys, she said Tower B has 136 units consisting three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a built-up area of 1,180 square feet, as well as four penthouses. There are about 30 units still available at Tower B. The company is offering 10 per cent discount on the remaining units from now till Sept 30 in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration.
