Nature Conservation Agreement: Need for transparent subsidiary deal
Dr Marcus, who was a former Vice-President and Secretary-General of Asia Pacific International Conference on Environmental Development, said the Sabah Biodiversity Enactment 2000 protects all species, including plant and animal, terrestrial and marine, among others, from any kind of destructions.
Kota Kinabalu: There should be a transparent subsidiary agreement under the Nature Conservation Agreement (NCA) so that any shortcomings, disputes and flaws could be addressed, said former Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus M. Mojigoh.

He said such a move would resolve any defects or non-compliance.

Implementation of the NCA has been delayed since 2021.

The State Government had, in principle, signed the agreement on Oct 28, 2021 with Singapore-based Hoch Standard Pte. Ltd which agreed to carry out “Carbon Credit Trading” involving Sabah forests reserves.
